One common thread with first-time users is answering the question, “Are you high?” This week we’re focusing on creating ‘Intro to Cannabis’ articles aimed at helping newcomers with their first cannabis experiences.
It’s weird, but almost half of all cannabis users claim that they didn’t get high the first time they smoked weed. They toked up, waited and nothing really happened. The next time they smoked weed however they got baked beyond belief.
Today we’re going to be talking about the symptoms of being under the influence of cannabis finally answering the question; “Are you high?”
Are You High – What to Expect
Cannabis is a gentle soul and will introduce herself to you with a calm demeanor unless you have some seriously potent stuff.
Some of your first sensations will be a lightness in your head and stomach. You’ll suddenly feel more relaxed and you won’t be able to wipe a smile off your face.
If you’re experiencing these things, then the answer to your question is; Yes! You’re high!
Are you High? – Why first-time consumers don’t know if they are high
It’s similar to the Native Americans when the first settlers came to the Americas. The story goes that an elder would go out to the ocean every day, looking at it until one day he started noticing weird shapes on the water.
At first, he didn’t know what it was. Shadows, the glimmering of light etc. The reason he couldn’t see the ships was because he had never seen one before. It wasn’t until that concept was introduced into his mind that he could make out the shape of the ships in the future.
This is exactly what happens to first time users. They have never experienced the high and thus have nothing to relate to it.
Being high isn’t like being drunk. It’s way more natural.
If you didn’t get high, the second time is the charm
As mentioned, almost everyone who said they didn’t get high the first time they smoked weed got high the second time around. This is because their body and mind have adjusted to the influx of cannabinoids in the system, the receptors are active and waiting.
The second time you’ll smoke you should clearly know what it feels like to be high. It’s very difficult to explain exactly how it feels like to be high if you have never been high, so we recommend giving it a try. Cannabis is being legalized all over the world. Sooner or later you’ll come face to face with the sticky icky, so why not simply try it and see if you like it.
