For many stoners out there, weed stems are really just a waste of plant matter. You might have searched ‘What to do with weed stems’ in the hopes of making more use of the cannabis plant. Fortunately for you, we have compiled three top notch and very simple things you can do with weed stems.
In order to make use of your stems you have to go through a process of decarbolization. To do this, you simply need to lay out your stems on an oven-friendly platter. Then, preheat your oven to 200º F and let the platter sit in the oven for about 15 minutes.
Once this is done, you’ll want to grind the stems up smaller. Take a pot and fill it with water and coconut oil. The fatty substances will be the thing that binds the THC to the coconut oil. Wrap the grounded stems in a coffee filter and tie it off.
Then, submerge the coffee filter in the water/coconut concoction and let it sit there for about 10 minutes. During this time, you can add any flavor tea into the mix as well. Chai Tea typically works the best because it meshes well with the fatty-ness of the Coconut.
Once you’re done, add some cinnamon for extra flavor and enjoy.
Note, this won’t be a heavy hitting drink, but it will definitely get you to chill out. Definitely something to help you discover what to do with weed stems.
If you’re interested in making topicals, reach out to me and I’ll schedule it for a follow up blog. Essentially, you’ll have to follow the same type of decarbing process as mentioned above, however, you can take Beeswax as the solvent to mix it with. Additionally, you can add your own vitamins and minerals to make your own topical concoctions.
Topicals are awesome and if you have enough stems, you could make a potent topical to get rid of any bruises along the way.
Then, once you have many strands, weave them into a rope. Once you’ve weaved them, fold them and twist them once more. Finally, heat up some beeswax and then dip the entire twisted stem in the melted beeswax.
Remove and set aside to dry. Once this process is complete, you can light that sucker up and it will slow burn. It’s also really helpful when camping.
And there you have it, 3 ways to help you in your quest to finding the answer to What to do with Weed Stems.
